About Me
Nuno Mendes was born in Leiria, Portugal. He received the PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Coimbra in 2014 and its Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2009 by the same university. He is currently Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering of the NOVA University of Lisbon. His research interests include: human-robot interaction, friction stir welding, industrial robotics, control systems and CAD-based robotics. Nuno Mendes is author of several journal and conference publications and participated in five European funded R&D flagship projects, FP6 (SMErobotTM), FP7 (ECHORD), HORIZON2020 (ColRobot, ComMUnion and INTEGRADDE). Since 2020 the author is member of the Research and Development Unit for Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (UNIDEMI).
