Infrastructures and Highly Connected Society

Coordinator: Júlio Viana (IPC)

Research addressing the scientific challenges posed by an integrated highly connected and digital society:

  • developing a robust data infrastructure (from computation to communications);
  • deploying reliable and ubiquitous CPS for a connected future;
  • implementing a digital approach for a more efficient and fair society.

The thematic line has 3 main strategic objectives, which are:

  • Paving the way for a digital and highly connected society: advanced computation infrastructures (SO1);
  • Towards a ubiquitously connected future, unleashing the potential of CPS (SO2);
  • A digital transformation for a more efficient and fair society (SO3);
