UNIDEMI is a research unit of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering of NOVA School of Science and Technology, it has 50 integrated research members, 10 laboratories and supports 2 PhD Programs.

UNIDEMI was evaluated in 2019 by the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia as EXCELLENT.

UNIDEMI develops scientific research and technology transfer in the areas of Future Sustainable Digital Factories and Services (SDF&S); Advanced Manufacturing (AM) ; and Design, Experimentation and Simulation in Engineering (DESE).
