About Me
I received my PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, Portugal, in 2004. My research focused on developing models for predicting sheet metal forming limits under linear and complex loadings, using advanced phenomenological and physically based plasticity models. The quality and breadth of these results allowed me to develop strong expertise in material modelling and scientific software development. To date, I have published 52 papers, including 21 in international conference proceedings and 31 in international peer-reviewed journals, with more than 750 citations (SCOPUS) and an h-index of 13 (SCOPUS). I act as a reviewer for the International Journal of Plasticity, International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, International Journal of Material Forming, Transactions of Nonferrous Metals Society of China, and Mathematical Problems in Engineering. I have participated in three European research projects and fifteen national research projects as a member of scientific teams. I am a researcher at the Centre for Mechanical Technology and Automation (TEMA), University of Aveiro, Portugal, and at LASI – Intelligent Systems Associate Laboratory, Portugal. I am also a member of the Scientific Committee of the European Scientific Association for Material Forming (ESAFORM).
