About Me
Joana Vieira is a Lead Strategic UX Researcher with a strong focus on psychoacoustics and sound design. Her research and publications delve into the application of create methods (e.g. Kansei engineering) for designing soundscapes and auditory alarms, with a focus on improving user interaction and reducing noise-related annoyance in healthcare environments. Her work spans usability testing, cognitive modeling, and sound design, making significant contributions to understanding how sound impacts user experiences. Joana holds a PhD in Ergonomics and has led key research initiatives at interface research institutes and other institutions.
