About Me

Nuno Santos is currently a researcher at ALGORITMI Research Center (at University of Minho, Guimarães) and CCG – Centro de Computação Gráfica (Guimarães, Portugal). He is currently a PhD student in Information Systems and Technology doctoral programme in University of Minho. He received a Lic. degree in Information Systems and Technology in 2008 and a M.Sc. degree in Information Systems Management and Engineering in 2009, both from Minho University. He is part of the SEMAG (Software Engineering and Management Group) research group (http://semag.algoritmi.uminho.pt/). Currently, he is involved in the HMIEXCEL (QREN 2013/036265) project, a partnership between the Bosch Car Multimedia Portugal, S.A. company in Braga, Portugal and the University of Minho, with a total of 19M€ funding and divided in 13 R&D lines for developing products and solutions that will open up new prospects for the automotive mobility, revolutionizing the relationship between the driver, passengers and vehicle. In 2012, he was involved in the AAL4ALL (QREN 13852) project for a national cluster, which aimed at developing a Cloud-based platform for integrating services in an unique Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) ecosystem of products and services associated to a business model and validated through large scale trial., and in the development of the certification scheme for cloud services for AAL systems. In 2011, he was involved in the ISOFIN project (QREN 2010/013837), which aimed at developing a Cloud-based platform for semantic and application interoperability between national financial institutions (banks, insurance companies and others). He is an invited paper reviewer - like Journal of Information Technology & Software Engineering from OMICS Group Engineering Journals (http://www.omicsonline.com/engineeringjournals.php), 5th International Conference on Software Business ICSOB 2014 (http://icsob2014.cs.ucy.ac.cy/) - and program committee for conferences - namely "2013 4th World Congress on Software Engineering" (http://2013.wcse-conf.org/index.htm) and "Enterprise Systems Conference (ES) ES 2013" (http://www.es2013.com/). He participated in consortiums for project calls for Portuguese national funding (for QREN programmes) and European funding (for FP7 and Horizon 2020 programmes). One of the projects in which he has participated in the consortium and with approval is the Cloud for Europe – C4E – project (FP7-317743). His research interests focus on business modelling, requirement analysis, software engineering, business analysis, standardization and product certification.
