About Me
Duarte Fernandes, which has a Ph.D. in Electronic and Industrial Engineering (concluded in 2018), operates as Embedded Systems researcher and Electronic Engineer with excellent team working skills, where most of his experience was acquired in research fields linked to the development of embedded solutions for a vast range of applications. He has primarily worked in projects related to the development of embedded solutions with sensing and actuating capabilities, implementation of Internet of Things solutions and design and deployment of deep learning solutions for the detection of objects on point clouds. He is a versatile researcher, capable of cooperating in diverse research areas. He often supervises master's degree thesis and is part of the jury in academic defences and accumulated experience as a lecturer. He frequently reviews articles for international scientific journals and assumed the role of Guest editor on an MDPI special Issue related to Artificial Intelligence. He has also accumulated experience in planning and preparation of national and international proposals submissions over the Horizon 2020 and Portugal 2020 program.
