About Me
M.C. Butuc received a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, Porto University, Portugal, in 2004. The work of Dr. M.C. Butuc was dedicated to developing models for predicting the sheet metal forming limits under linear and complex loadings, by using the most advanced phenomenological and physically-based plasticity models. The quality and broadness of these results allowed Dr. M.C. Butuc to develop a very good expertise in the field of material modeling and development of scientific software. She has published 48 papers, 19 in proceedings of international conferences and 29 in international peer review journals, getting more than 500 citations (SCOPUS) and the h-index of 10 (SCOPUS). M.C. Butuc is acting as reviewer of the International Journal of Plasticity, International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, International Journal of Material Forming, Transactions of Nonferrous Metals Society of China and Mathematical Problems in Engineering. M.C. Butuc participated as a member of scientific teams in three European research projects and fourteen national research projects. Dr. M.C. Butuc is researcher at the Centre for Mechanical Technology and Automation, (TEMA), University of Aveiro, Portugal and LASI - Intelligent Systems Associate Laboratory, Portugal. She is also member of the Scientific Committee of the European Scientific Association for Material Forming (ESAFORM).
