About Me
Inês graduated in Psychology by the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra in 2007 and completed a PhD degree in Health Sciences by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra in 2014, while holder of a PhD grant from the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, FCT (SFRH/BD/41401/2007). After completed her PhD, she was awarded a FCT scholarship (SFRH/BPD/101641/2014) to develop her postdoctoral work at the Institute for Biomedical Imaging and Life Sciences (IBILI) of the University of Coimbra with the aim to explore the neural correlates of inhibitory control in Autism Spectrum Disorder. At the present, she is a researcher of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra and an integrated member of the Coimbra Institute for Biomedical Imaging and Translational Research (CIBIT). She is developing studies combining neuroimaging techniques and behavioural measures to fully understand the underlying disease mechanisms, particullarly regarding neurodevelopmental pathologies. Concomitantly, she have been involved, as a team member, in interdisciplinary European projects (BrainTrain Project-FP7-HEALTH-2013-Innovation-1-602186, Aims-2-trials - Grant agreement nº 777394) which offers the opportunity to create future long standing collaborations. Her achievements are reflected in 14 original peer-reviewed papers published in high-quality international journals, 1 book chapter and 3 papers in conference proceedings with a total of 216 citations and an H-index of 9, as assessed by web of Science. She had also the opportunity to disseminate her research findings as author and co-author of 30 scientific posters and oral communications at national and renowned international conferences, for instance Human Brain Mapping and Society for Neuroscience meetings. She has been requested to collaborate in review processes as invited reviewer for 6 different multidisciplinary journals, such as Scientific Reports, Frontiers inPsychology and Brain Research. Importantly, she has been involved in the organization of science outreach activities, such as giving talks at public engagement actions at schools and patients associations.
