Centre for Informatics and Systems of the University of Coimbra (CISUC)
CISUC is one of the leading Portuguese research centres in the area of Computer Science and Information Technology, and obtained the maximum score of Excellent, in the evaluation by the National Foundation for Science and Technology.
The Centre has about 200 integrated researchers, of which 85 have doctorates, organized into 6 groups:
- Adaptive Computing
- Cognitive and Media Systems
- Communications and Telematics
- Evolutionary and Complex Systems
- Information Systems
- Software and Systems Engineering
These groups are combined into three thematic cooperative strands: Resilient Software and Internet Services (RISE); Intelligent Systems (SI); Human Centered Computing (HCC).
CISUC proposes to achieve levels of excellence in research, to train young researchers, disseminating their research in high impact outlets, meeting the needs of society and increasing the competitiveness of Portugal. CISUC promotes innovation through a strong search for research projects with both public and industry funding, supporting the creation of start-ups and collaborating on strategies for regional and international development.
